I'd like to paint our house. What do I need to do and how do I know what colors are approved for the community?
Oh, Yes! The ultimate spring project...nothing says spring like the smell of latex exterior paint! Approval for this project is not difficult, unless you intend on doing an "Andy Warhol" and making your house look like a Campbell's soup can.
First,
decide on the color. You can view the new
paint color options (PDF file) online (please note that for the
colors schemes that are underlined, colors 1 and 2 can be reversed without
approval of the ARC.). You can also go to Dunn Edwards Paint (on
the northwest corner of Dobson and Chandler Boulevard) and ask to see
the Valencia Paint Pallet; they will be happy to assist you and have generously
offered a good discount if you buy the paint there.
Colors on the lists are pre-approved and homeowners do not need to submit paperwork to the Architectural Committee for approval. Any other colors or variation of the approved colors will need to be approved, which requires filling out the architectural review form. This form gets turned into one of the board members or our Community Manager at AAM. Formal approval should be done within the month.
